Ask A Mitsubishi Exec Anything On Jalopnik Right Now

I write over there under the pen name Stef Schrader (they'll never know my real name is ninjacoco, ever!), so this is probably 100000% a conflict of interest, but I figured it'd be of interest to y'all, so here goes.

http://jalopnik.com/ask-a-mitsubishi...ant-1661230060

Questions about the Evo, the Mirage, racing, hooning, off-roading, future models, dealer support, you name it--go ask it.

Didn't approve, didn't care, or both. Evo dead after this year, ignoring a small portion of their customers, but definitely those whose loyalty is fiercest.

that's me although i see the evo as the ultimate in practical sports car rather than what they call it. seems so strange to be giving up in this area when the sti has solid sales, and everyone else is upping their ante. in fact i'd say there is an almost exploding trend in high power sporty daily drivers. chalk up mitsu's actions to a poor decision at the corporate level.

It seems incomprehensible to me, they are missing the boat in a big way.

Mitsubishi did this as well when they were selling TV's. They thought Plasma's were going to be the Sh** and said LED's were not going to succeed.. and look what happened.

I get that Mitsubishi is basically having to rebuild its auto brand. With less than 1% global market share, they have an uphill battle for sure. http://www.nada.com/b2b/NADAOutlook/...-survival.aspx

They are missing the point. They should hire loyal mitsubishi enthusiasts not bean counter executives that have no clue about the Evo exclusivity. Using an outlander side mirror will work for mercedes using same mirror across the board except their special models, but not when you're talking about the Evo. The recaros should have been preserved. There are recaros with side airbags.
