P1875 code (Damper speed sensor poor performance)

Anyone had this?
Suddenly started 2 days ago, jerky shifting with the bov releasing every time, sometimes the clutch will open on upshifting.......
What/where is this pesky sensor and can it be changed?
HELP !!!!!!!

OK, so Jacks transmissions pointed me in the right direction, pulled my trans and the springs have gone in the torque damper
Got to look at my options now...........

Had a teach-in done @ Mitsi, couldn't clear it....
Took the oil pan off and scoped the sensor, but couldn't get any output.
Checked ecu voltages, a bit weird.....
Black = ground
Blue (signal) = 5v
Red (live) = 7v
7v is unusual, but maybe correct, but 5v on the signal in pin?
Maybe this has fried the sensor and I need both, anyone know what it should be?

It was the damper sensor that failed, changed this out and all is golden again

Thanks for this post, I've been trying to track down this same problem. Based on the codes it sounds like a sensor is bad.

Any advice on where to get one?

I have just replaced my torque damper sensor and sadly it did not fix my P1875 problem. I do now have a spare sensor though which I presume is actually working fine.
Does anyone need one? Let me know!

Sourcing a P1875 damper sensor

In the end it seems the only place to source a damper sensor is from another gearbox. Mine came from the USA initially, but it turned out to be bad too, so another one was sourced from a different gearbox that the garage had. They were initially a little reluctant to split it. If you're in the U.K., Chris at Autotorque is an excellent choice.
When looking for a new sensor I found one that looks almost the same for £30 and thought maybe it would fit. However, as Autotorque had basically fixed mine by then I didn't follow it up. I think someone else in this thread may have tried it but found that it didn't fit.
It's crazy that you can't buy this sensor new from anywhere, given that the alternative is to buy a new gearbox!
Best of luck.
Steve

Thanks Bairdy, I am in the US...
I took the car back to the dealer, they kept it for three weeks and barely did anything to it. Jack Transmissions and Kozmic in the U.S were recommended on this forum, and both said it could either be a bad sensor or also commonly it can be a problem with the damper. Thinking this may be a good excuse to buy new dampers and lower the car while I'm at it, and see if that removes the code. If that doesn't work then the only option is to send the trans to one of the recommended repair shops and let them work their magic . It is crazy nobody offers an official replacement sensor! BTW If anybody knows a good option for aftermarket dampers I will be looking for some.

The damper that you need is a torque damper located next to the clutch, rather than suspension dampers which I think you are referring to...? In any case, I got my suspension done a while ago for adjustable coilovers that were recommended by the specialist that I use. They have extension cables on them that allow you to adjust the damping from the boot (rears) and under the hood (fronts). Handy! They are Meister R Zeta CRD and were £760 including VAT and fitting (£250).
