WTAC Eastern Creek Cyber EVO Barely Wins Again
As some of you may have heard the Cyber EVO won again beating the SSE EVO by a few tenths this past weekend. SSE wasn't able to go back out on the last session due to a broken transmission. The Cyber EVO is basically maxxed out and they had to sacrifice their IHI RX6BB Turbo(I guess over boosting it) to beat out SSE. It was close. As you can see the Cyber EVO weighs just over 2400lbs vs. SSE's 2700lbs. Maybe next year, right? SSE has plenty of tricks let up their sleeve and I doubt Cyber can keep its crown as the king for long. Shockingly the Cyber EVO's performance mainly comes from being lightweight. When comparing it to the SSE EVO it is like comparing the Space Shuttle to a 747 in terms of technology.I have included a nice video of the event as well as a good write up from Moto IQ.
The winning lap of 1:28 and change is a new all time new record for a production car including Aussie V8 Supercars and beats Cyber EVO last years time by over 2 seconds. Either way it is pretty sick in my book. Congrats SSE and Cyber EVO for putting on a great show.

I would expect that most of these teams try and start with a moderate setup the first day and then get more aggressive with higher boost and engine risking tunes to break out those last few tenths. Tarzan is no joke when it comes to driving a car at the edge of survival. I'm pretty sure SSE was better in the straights with the bigger turbo setup despite the weight, and the turns is where the Cyberevo edged them out, possibly due to slightly stickier "one off" tires.
