Nice! When I searched from work, they were all sets, starting at $545.

Anyone know what size drill bit and or reamer drill bit is used to modify the 8/9 caliper? Previous post mentioned the X bolt is 14mm which is .55". How much bigger than the bolt is the hole?

14mm bolt gets a 14mm drilled hole. The bolt isn't dead nuts 14mm, it's slightly undersized, and then drilled holes are almost always slightly oversized, so it'll go in fine.

order this up and send iiiitttt...

Thanks! He suggested using a reamer too since the normal bit chipped, but can't find a reamer in metric size on amazon. The amazon reamer are diff size, smallest being 1/2"

the reamer i got was standard size also, forgot the size. i borrowed it from my dad. spray wd40 or water so you don't burn up the bit. reamer bite very aggressive, you don't need a lot of force.

OK cool. I guess I will go with the 9/16" reamer since that is .562" and the 14mm bolt is .551" . The 1/2" reamer would be smaller than the 14mm bolt size.

According to the OP "its probably one of the best mod i've done to the car. threshold braking is so much easier now without having to smash on the pedal, and the brakes stayed consistent laps after lap. the pad wear is noticeable less also. i did not get a chance to take rotor temp but i'll do that at a different event. Yes, need 18s for the X calipers. There is a possible way to use a metal insert sleeve into the hole so that you can use the smaller 12mm bolt if you wanted to put back on the 8/9 calipers to run 17s.

hmm... i guess i can swap my 17x9.5 weds for 18x9.5 weds...

how "even" does the drilling have to be? I'm assuming this probably needs to go to a professional? i.e., what happens if it's off center? i guess the caliper wouldn't line up right on the disk?

one guy mentioned drilling offset to make the mod work for the rears - anyone else do the same?

All you're doing is enlarging the existing bolt holes in the front spindle. Would be extremely difficult to have them end up off center.
