Def any steel brackets including the intake manifold bracket. There is a lot of weight in just that stuff.

Or make a ACD pump relocation "kit" with some nice brackets for the passenger side trunk aft of the wheel.

Just delete the intake manifold support. It's not needed.

I'm on the fence. I also want to run a phenolic spacer/gasket so was thinking the extra support could help keep it square and help prevent a leak.

That is if I can find the spacers they used to make. MAP no longer carries/produces them.

Yeah get rid of the IM bracket! I havent had one on my car for years now and also have one of those phenolic spacers and AFAIK mine isnt leaking. I can validate that my IM has yet to fall off so I think its fine.

The stock IM is light. Guys run the heavy sheet metal and bigger aftermarket cast mani's with phenolic spacer and no support. It's fine..

While on the subject, which one do you guys run? I wanted to use the one MAP made but no longer available. Will be doing full EGR delete and head pluging.

Was looking for the non "thin plastic" one which I believe is what STM sells. The MAP and English ones are thick and use a diff material.

Since we have to have a "working" HVAC system per se, to run our class at Grid Life, you have to sometimes think "in the box" so to say, to cut weight. I kept the heater core and have the system set up to run defrost. Shaved 5 1/2 pounds out of everything not needed in the evap case by itself. Will more then likely be able to shed some more from the blower housing.
