flat tire and Les Schwab told me....

Got a nail in a stock Advan tire. The nail is on the shoulder of the tire and I didn't think they would be able to fix it. But get this..

They wouldn't even quote me a price for a single tire... Gave me an "all wheel drive" - "different tire size" line.. Wanted to sell me all 4 tires or none..

Needless to say - I walked..! The tire only has a little over 20k miles on it..

What ya think - a load of BS or what..? BTW this is the Les Schawb in Lacey.

The seller is correct.
Stock advan would have been worned down too much after 20K miles. If you put a new one on it will have different size from the worned one and therefore will cause your differential to work overtime constantly.

Les Schwab is the shizzle. They have to cover themselves. Must reduce liability. I have heard that if the tires are different on an AWD car it can mess up the transmission.

You do not want to go more than 2/32" tread depth difference between tires on an evo. I'd say at 20k your advans need replacing anyways.

You probably get the point by now, but yeah, stockers don't really last much over 20k...

You are lucky they didn't sell you only one. Listen to everyone else and replace all 4. You should feel lucky to have gotten 20k out of them, I got 9

How the hell do you have 20k on your tires??? That's insane. I'm surprised they're not bald!

Yeah I don't drive my car hard, and mostly highway miles, and I STILL only managed to get 16k (which is impressive I know, I've been told that a lot) out of them. What sucks is that they wear on the outside edges, and not in the middle. I still had plenty of tread on the center section of the tire.

Wait why would you sell your rims? You just need 4 new tires... That's MAYBE 800 bucks, and that's if you get crazy tires, I got mine for 70 bucks each that are on right now and they're great.

Only 20K with a stock advan? Mine didn't even last 10K!
