mut over obd2 with elm327???
i have Mitsubishi lancer 6 1995 with 4g92 engine,
it has 16 pin obd2 connector which uses mut protocol over obd,
i have two bluetooth elm327 adapters: bafx and vgate, both v1.5.
i have searched for over a month the net and tried everything but i still get: "no connection to ecu" in torque android app.
i also tried to connect with a laptop using hyper terminail, i got: "bus init error" every time.
can any one give step by step instructions on how to do it? at least with hyper terminal and laptop?
my final goal is to monitor the car with my android phone, and spend no more then 100$ for it.
both adapters are working because i connected with them to shkoda roomster 2012 successfully.
Also my ecu is ok because my friend manged to connect to my ecu with a laptop and ads1 scantool:

hybrid obd
mut protocol is iso 9141 5 baud init and 15625 communication,
currently impossible to achieve with elm 327,
i contacted the manufacturer of the elm chips and he promised to ad it to the next version of the chip,
also Mitsubishi has the l-line (rts) at pin 1 instead of obd standart pin 15

hello rxsr,
did you able to find any solution for this matter? I also having a Lancer MX 1997 and it doesnt read with ELM327 bluetooth device while my mechanic's pro device reads the ecu w/o any problems.
Did you tried any else devices which can be bought for a cheap price ?
Thank you.

try evoscan
this should do the job:
http://www.evoscan.com/evoscan-gps-o...alogging-cable
you will need:
*laptop
*openport1.3d cable (57$)
*evoscan program (20$), i have heard other people use free programs, but i only tried evoscan so far.

thanks lot for the information rxsr!
Just curious, Did you tried this way with your car ( lancer 1995) ?
This option seems bit expensive for me. Because I saw there are some OBD2 scanners for very cheap prices like 20USD. but i hv heard there are lots of other advantages of using openport cable other than using it only for reading DTCs. (like reflashing ecu am i correct bro ?
pls lemme knw if u knw of any cheap scanners which works with lancer 1995 - 2000 generation cars too.
Thanks

All the cheap obd2 adapters use elm32X chip, which doesn't support Mitsubishi mut protocol (1995-2003).
I have two elm adapters and both don't work with my car.
Many of them are not reliable.
If you want to flash your ecu you need a more expensive cable and a ecu that is flashbal (not all ecu are flashable!), Google it...
Also the cheap dongles are much slower, this means that you get 5 readings of a moniterd sensor in a second instead of 200 for example.
I have this cable and it works with my car, and I think it will work with yours too.
This cable supports mut ii/iii, subaru, all obd2 and another Mitsubishi protocol which I can't remember.
