Take a look at how some of the oil filter comparison sites open up the filters, and then try to mimic them. I think most usually chop it in half with presumably a band saw, from end to end. That way you could get a good comparison of how the OEM filter is designed compared to aftermarket ones.

No bandsaw here.. (unfortunately) and with an soaked old filter if anyone were to cut it length wise.. there's going to be a big mess of "sprayed" oil everywhere.
I plan to cut it around the neck and pull it apart.
Yes, I will definitely post pics of what I find.

UPDATE: Engine Oil maintenance
I highly recommend that we follow the oil change intervals set by the factory - Every 7,500 miles.
It improves MPGs instantly or at the very least hits the rated EPA rated MPGs > Personal experience, HERE.

Especially considering the loads/abuse we put our tiny motors through each day.

And, I had visually checked my oil's condition (via dipstick) often - for level and dirtiness - thinking that was good enough of a check. Plus, it looked fine, only turning slightly dark brown recently...
Well, I didn't think about the actual dirt/contaimnants being held/trap in the filter. It was bad - pitch black

That will HUGELY vary from person to person. It will depend on how often you use your HVAC and how the air is around your area. If you drive through dusty construction sites it will be a lot sooner than others, for example.
Honestly, it takes a matter of seconds to remove the "globe" box (whoops ) and check it. If it isn't still white then replace it. maintenance recommends it be replaced at 15k miles for regular maintenance schedule, and 7,500 miles under the "severe" maintenance schedule.

Got this Cabin Air Filter from Amazon. Fits perfect on my '13 OS SE with 14300 Miles. Burtonrider is correct, easy to install, no sweat.....

Just got a quote for 33,000 KM service cost for $330.00 + tax for synthetic oil, or $280.00 + tax for conventional oil from my local dealership. I'm thinking of going back to Mr. Lube as a lot of the service is just inspections. What do you guys think?

Have you done any maintenance earlier (either by yourself or by the dealer, before?)

$39.99 - fresh 0W-20 Full Synthetic "factory" Oil, Filter, & crush washer
$19.99 - Wheel rotation. (in the arrangement you prefer > Either "H" or "X" pattern.)
+ taxes (where allocable)
All dollars in USD.
So, for ~$270 for all other "services" it seems a tad excessive.
(UNLESS you aren't the DIY type and just want someone else to check Everything for you, then perhaps it's worth the few extra bucks, so at least they have it recorded/registered in their system that everything is ship-shape and according to warranty schedules.)
Also, if you haven't gotten a CVI Report (yet), they should provide that for free (for only the 1st report that is. I believe...)
Disclaimer: I'm not sure how the warranty-servicing-contract is setup/works up in Canada, so what I've stated above may not apply to your region.
