Basic Maintenance Items : Outlander Sport (ASX/RVR)
#31
Is this your very first full service call?
Have you done any maintenance earlier (either by yourself or by the dealer, before?)
My dealership charges >
$39.99 - fresh 0W-20 Full Synthetic "factory" Oil, Filter, & crush washer
$19.99 - Wheel rotation. (in the arrangement you prefer > Either "H" or "X" pattern.)
+ taxes (where allocable)
All dollars in USD.
So, for ~$270 for all other "services" it seems a tad excessive.
(UNLESS you aren't the DIY type and just want someone else to check Everything for you, then perhaps it's worth the few extra bucks, so at least they have it recorded/registered in their system that everything is ship-shape and according to warranty schedules.)
Also, if you haven't gotten a CVI Report (yet), they should provide that for free (for only the 1st report that is. I believe...)
Disclaimer: I'm not sure how the warranty-servicing-contract is setup/works up in Canada, so what I've stated above may not apply to your region.

Update: they reply back to my question as to what the full brake service involves, and they said they would take it apart and clean the parts individually. They didn't mention a fluid flush though.

The first 3 services were done at Mr. Lube, Full Synthetic oil changes. I don't require tire rotation either. I was thinking of bringing it to the dealership for a full inspection this time, but at that price I'm thinking of holding off until my next service check up.

Really!?
I'm not sure if I trust that kind of service. That's just me.
Anyone else ever heard of this type of "thorough cleaning" being offered/done???

Got a reply, "No, brake flush is not included in this service." haha what are they doing, going to clean and relube my brake parts??? I might cancel my appointment next week and head over to MR lube for another oil/filter change.

Alright guys & gals..
It's getting to about that time for new tires!
Picked up some more nails in the old rubbers and the treads are down to 1/8".
Summer's here so, might as well.
225/55 18
What should I get/consider?
Stick with stock TOYOs or try something different? Recommendations??
>> Guess I should state - I want to keep it under $150 per tire if possible.

When I was looking last year I really liked the Bridgestone Turanza Serenity Plus (see thread HERE)
I ended up with the Bridgestone Ecopia's, and I honestly have zero negative comments about them. Road noise is minimal, traction is excellent in all weather (rain/sun/even snow), and I do believe I have seen an improvement in gas mileage.

One of the best tires I ever used was the Michelin HydroEdge. Great three season tire. Decent price. Pirellis are great but soft. The Scorpions were awesome. Check Tirerack.com for prices and ratings.

Thank you guys for all your input & suggests.
Couldn't find it in our exact size...
Bridgestone Turanza Serenity Plus 235 /55 R18 100V SL BSW $177.00 ea.
http://www.discounttire.com/dtcs/tir...MAINT&pc=15046
Bridgestone Ecopia 225/55 R18 $172.00 per.
http://www.discounttire.com/dtcs/fin...320&vid=005237
Both are solid tires, but over my budget.
Love the look!
http://www.discounttire.com/dtcs/tir...60619&pc=43265
But again above my budget $175 ea and more road noise than we can stand since most (well actually it's 100%) of our driving/commute is in the city.
Aggressive unidirectional treads! I'm sure they are good tires, but I had enough of uni's when it comes to tire rotation.

(There were 'cheaper' tires - Falken Pro G4s (225/55 R18) $120ea., but they had to special order them. But, they had the Michelins in stock, ready to go.)
So, I gave them the ol "the baby in the arm trick."
I said "Hey, look. It's hot outside (97°) and I'd hate drag my daughter around in the heat just to shop around at your competitors (hint hint: NTB). You got those Michelins' in-stock... So, can you make the price better?"
