[Off Topic] Toyota TUUV?

WTH!

Well, it's different. That's for sure.

Built on the chassis of the Toyota Tacoma, the Toyota Ultimate Utility Vehicle (TUUV) is … well, a Sienna mated to a Tacoma

Oh yeah!
Mitsu have tons of Off-road/Rally experience. Just wish they would parlay that expertise MORE into their vehicle lineup.

Have Specialized Off-Road options in their SUV/CUVs. Damn it.

Well, I never knew...
fascinating.

And, those vehicles get a 2.5L intercooled Turbo!!?
Good for
  • Power - 131 kW (178 PS) at 4,000 rpm
  • Torque - 350 N·m (258 lb·ft) at 1,800 rpm
Come on... Why isn't this option available to us?

Mits is not doing a great job marketing the OS/RVR to the sporting crowd. Heck, the original name - RVR - stood for "Recreational Vehicle Runner" (or whatever the Japanese was). With a 2.5l intercooled mill and some winter tires they'd blow the doors off Audis etc. The 8.5" clearance is a great selling point in snow, too. I frankly am looking forward to powering up the ski hill road this winter. In a blizzard.

NO KIDDING!!
Slapping that kind of 2.5L Turbo motor in a Van... and not in the Outlander SPORT?!?

So, their marketing logic assumes van operators are more spirited drivers and require the 4x4 capabilities and the power to back it up.

My Delica had a 2.8 turbo diesel looked just like the one at the 12 sec mark in the video , it had the crystal roof and moon roof . with a set of 31x10.50x15 . From what I understand it is the same running gear as the Pajero/Montero . I had it when I lived in the Philippines .
