English Racing / Noribilt 2.4LR Evo 9 build II
im not gonna link to old threads, but car used to be a stock block evo ix on a fp black w/ maps external wastegate setup i made 535whp/ 4XX tq, eventually the motor let go after letting someone drive it. So i made the next logical step...
the patient
after alot of thought I decided to go with an English Racing Shortblock, alot of talks w/ Myles and I pulled the trigger on a 2.4 Long Rod motor w/ 9:1 comp since it will remain a street car. I sent my head up to the guys at English and they fixed some bent valves and assembled the whole long block.
Noribilt Fabrications here in San Antonio did the rest of the handy work
first time seeing my freshly built motor
LR 2.4 9:1 comp
kelford 272s
ferrea valve springs and valves
stock IM & TB
Spoolinup COP
then i decided to upgrade the turbo while i was at it.. so i changed to this
jb 6266, wanted a 6466 but im in the Army so im a baller on a budget
Noribilt took on the task of building me a manifold, def liked seeing the progression
the results
due to limited spacing, we decided to change the car to SD and get rid of the MAF...
Chad running the car on the dyno, after breaking the engine in
TSCOMPUSA did an awesome job... his base tune at about 28psi put down 49X whp on a mustang dyno, we stopped at 569whp due to spark blow out, but Tom was nowhere near done, since we were just getting the boost dialed in.. oops.. i didnt properly gap the plugs...

then I made a mistake and decided to upgrade some things i didnt have the money for before, so back to Noribilt and English Racing I went
couple of weeks later, my English Racing ported head w/ new AEM cam gear..(didnt want a fidanza, just in case)
I decided to upgrade the IM, so Curt Brown hooked me up w/ his Ported IM w/ 70mm Full blown flange. All i can say is great customer service.. less than 7 day turn around time
then i painted it
and then i did the valve cover.. i want to powder coat it, but i dont wana worry about the potential issues
Nate @ MAPerformance gave me a great deal on a Fullblown TB

round 2! fight! (the dyno that is!) lol.
time to fight the dyno for some horsepower
Glad English racing and Noribilt got you all straightened out! I knew they would.
BE VERY careful how you did that valve cover.. make sure there is no paint underneath or any kind of spray that can contaminate the oil.
Also full blown TB is awesome! Just be very very careful how tight you make the clamps around it.. it can crack. what I did was boost leak test the car then tighten it until it stopped leaking and left it alone. just want to snug it.

Update
Havent updated this thread in a while, had my transfer case go, which took out my rear end. I got the car back about a month ago, i changed to a built non-acd T-case and got a used rear end off a friend.
I just wanted to make sure things were sorted out, so Tom aka TSCOMPUSA helped me out to finally scale the 2150's. he was literally tuning me and another car at the same time. He was able to dial in the injectors w/o any logs.. I was blown away.
the car is still on Tom's base tune, but now it doesnt go anywhere... as soon as the car hits boost, it just spins. Literally 50mph, 60mph... 80mph.. I definitely need better tires. I have not been back to the dyno yet, but its coming..
now on to the pics
due to the IM and TB i had to relocate the battery i think i did pretty good
i also removed the wing
here's a quick video of my attempting to show my brother how bad it spins
hopefully ill get some better tires or slicks soon, priorities come first.. the army doesnt pay too well lol
