Donor vehicle

The Nissan Leaf is hideous and underpowered. The LiMnO2 cells inside however are excellent. They represent the state of the art in automotive applications of Lithium ion chemistry cells.

Patient to O.R.

Getting the Li ion pack out of the car and on the table proved to be a formidable task. That mother weighs over 500lbs.

Schewf!

Very happy to see that I didn't buy a pile of junk. That was a pretty big gamble!

DANGER!

Must be careful as there is anywhere between 360-400VDC sitting in this baby. Here is a pic showing the removal of a 12 module unit for testing.

Vitals please...

Cells are very healthy and in the condition that they ship from the manufacturer. This leads me to believe that these cells are brand new which is good news for making big power!

Its very nice to have OEM levels of quality in the construction. I would have happily made my own bus bars, but these units from Nissan are so clean AND safe! All connections have a protective orange panel to prevent, well death I guess.

A guy named Matt said I should come check this out, he said I would not be disappointed. He was right.

Holy ****, this is cool.

I would just ditch that mustache bar and get buschur tubular one or the AMS mustache eliminator.

PS- They pretty much look that terrible on any evo.

Oh I'm so in this.

I do have a question though.
How did you straighten the frame out? Seen a few wrecked evos with minor frame damage and I've always wanted to try a build like this. Strip and rebuild

And there I was browsing what seemed to be a usual hardcore rescue operation, When all of a sudden a Nissan Leaf was butchered for the good of humanity.

Anyway, couple of questions, I am not all that versed in EV and their conversions but got few questions:

Will EVo (hope you noticed) be AWD and what will be the capability of the drivetrain? Will it be Single ratio or will the power go through some kind of custom gearbox in order to retain EVO's 4wd drivetrain?
Powersteering, axles and all other how will that be solved?
Range and power output?

Also dont forget to bring your Mitsubishi range extender

Gee I wish merging EV and ICE generator like in Outlander PHEV would be possible for us meere mortals. Would allow us to completely start thinking of ditch old iron gunks from a lot of cool cars. I really loved the sound and movement of powertrain when they combined their power.
