Driven Fab - The Goblin Build

Out with the old, in with the new

I originally started this build as a restoration of my Evo 8. I bought it a few years ago and after driving it for a week I got so frustrated with all the little issues that I just pulled the motor to fix everything right. The original plan was to just pull the motor, fix the leaks, tuck the wiring harness, and build a custom turbo kit for it and call it a day. Well the motor came out, as did the wiring harness, and then all of a sudden the interior was out of it and the next thing you know the front end was chopped off. Here's that thread below if you followed along or want to read through it.

https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/pr...n-build-7.html

The New Plan

Now the car is being turned into a drag car with some minimal street driving. The car will keep glass all around, and still use the OEM mitsubishi dash and center console. We plan to run street class while we work out the kinks the first year. The idea is to develop our motorsports line of parts, which include some of the following:

- Quick disconnect tubed front end kit. Weld on plates / clevis' to the frame rails for a full front end kit.
- Long tube, 321 stainless steel exhaust manifold with a 4 or 5" titanium exhaust
- Parachute mount kit (weld on)
- Full environmentally sealed raychem motorsports chassis wiring, fuse box, relay panel and switch hub. Quick disconnect mil spec firewall connection.
- CDI Ignition system with mil spec quick disconnect firewall connection.
- Carbon Fiber motorsport grade drag wing
- Front and rear tubular subframes, control arms, possibly billet rear control arms.

The Power Plant

-Driven Fab Titan Short Block
-Filled 4g63 block
-Manley Billet Crank
-Aluminum Rods
-Wiseco high CR pistons
-Dry Deck
-Curt Brown Head
-GSC S3 Cams
-Ferrea Valvetrain
-PPG Dog Box
-Wavetrac LSD transfer case + LSD rear end
-Stage 5 DSS Rear Axles
-DSS Carbon Driveshaft
-15" Weld Wheels with Hoosier QTPs
-Borg Warner S400sxe turbo
-6" Driven Fab Intercooler
-Electric water pump
-Driven Fab electric power steering kit
-2 gallon front mount fuel cell
-ID Brushless Fuel Pump
-ID2000's (X8)
-CPC Carbon Fiber Intake Manifold
-8.50 cert Driven Fab Roll Cage
-FT600 ECU,
-Full custom motorsports mil spec chassis and engine harness

I haven't decided on fuel or intake manifold, I know we will use all vanjen clamps on the piping and turbo. I'm sure some things will change from here but this is the plan.

That's it so far, we'll be starting a youtube series on this build next week, you can subscribe to our cannel below.

Weld ****

Full pen thin walled stainless welds - unlike 90% of the "other people" on the market. We don't cut corners, and neither should you when deciding on a product.

Just got one of your stock frame exhaust manifolds. Made it for me over the weekend and sent it out on the rush. Much thanks!! Very nice looking welds.
