the metal 9 dv valve will hold >> 25psig

the same pressure seen in the intake manifold = same pressure acting on the top chamber of the DV, holding it shut PLUS the force of the internal spring.

Potential buyers: Play the video (link: http://www.jgajewski.org/bov/EVO9-BOV-PressTest.wmv) to verify that the brand new valve I'm selling does hold 30psi (the same as the other metal valves I have tested). I even used two different compressors to verify that different compressors give the same result.

I don't know how the other people are getting their mid-20's numbers. All the posts I could find using the SEARCH reference words such as "I heard", "I read", "A friend told me"... nothing with a test procedure I could try to reproduce & validate.

I'm not sure what you mean...25,26...30 psi is still the same no matter how it is generated. PSI is a standard unit of measure and you can generate pressure is many different ways. But 30 psi is still 30 psi not matter how it is generated, weather is is a turbo in an engine or a hand pump (obviously the hand pump takes longer though).

Correct. I'm not sure what you are trying to say. My test device does that... the blue vacuum hose simulates the intake manifold pressure. The manifold pressure your car is trying to build is not controlled by the diverter valve. However, once your manifold pressure exceeds the valves maximum, it will leak pressure to maintain that maximum holding pressure that is set in the valve.

Yup that's the same test I used to verify that the stock MR bov holds 30 psi! A buddy of mine had his Evo 9 dynoed yesterday; and he spiked to 31 psi with the MR bov.

spiking and holding are 2 different things...metal bov opens @ 25psi..unless u guys are crushing them? Not sure if the crushed ones will hold much more..

The test I have done demonstrates the holding threshold, not the spiking threshold ... think about it... How can I be spiking with a compressor that takes ~5 secs to reach the 30 psi. And yes, the 30 psi holds for no matter how long I run the compressor - I just cut the clip off as it was useless to have that.

If I wanted to test the spike, I would need to pressurize the unit to over 30 psi in second or less and have a gauge with memory to record the spike psi reading.

Again, please show me data and procedure to replicate the 25 psi claim that everyone on here is so convinced of. My test and data, as I have shown tells a different story.

Anyway, disregarding weather it is 25 or 30 psi that the stock metal gauge is supposed to hold, can I get back to just selling the gauge in this thread?

Some one please educate me... I really don't understand. You are the 2nd person to say my asking price is high. Where are you guys finding a cheaper price than what I'm asking. New ones are $150 (dealer), I'm asking $95 shipped?

I have seen used ones on these forums go for $80-$85.... I'm not selling a brand new, never used valve for $70 or $75. But thanks for the offer.

Maybe you guys mean the valves are are not worth it for you personally because you don't like the stock valves no matter what the price is going to be.... that I could understand. But how do you justify my asking price as high when compared to other prices out there.... please explain. Show me where I can find one cheaper - I really do want to know for my future purchases!

I have a ***** pump that looks just like that!!!!!!!!!!!
