Fixing ugly clearcoat damage wing!!!

Ok, so im following the write up i found here on evom on how to fix my wing!

I just finished taking off all the clearcoat and i just started sanding it down with 2000 grit sand paper.

But i noticed some spots on the wing after all the clear coat had been removed.

Im not sure if its because im going too deep into the carbon fiber, or if thats how the whole thing is supposed to look after i sand it down with the 2000 paper.

Here are some pics of how it looks right now!!

Please help me out!!!

I'm digging the Air Jordan sandals. Maybe its because the clear coat wore off unevenly, then when you sanded it evenly it turned out spotted because some places the clearcoat is wore off more then other places. I would just try finishing it and if it looks bad once its all dry maybe you can paint it to match the car, or just do it black....its an idea!

thanks for the idea, but i really dont like when the wing is the same color of the car, i want it to be like it was before, just carbon fiber with a nice clear coat on it.

I used a razorblade and got under the clear coat and shaved it right off...I haven't gotten around to having the clear coat put back on so it's flat and has no shine but it's looks a million times better than that nasty yellow mess that was on there.

ok, but the question is: Why do i have those spots after i took off the clear coat??
should i keep sanding it down more with 2000 grit or am i gettin too close to the cf already?

my seibon (****bon) carbon hood had spots like that too. after sanding and clear coat, the spots were either barely noticeable, or gone all together. what you've got there is normal. once you put a good clear coat on it, all the inconsistency in the finish will level out. that all looks normal for carbon clear coat fade. just make sure it's all smooth.

did you use an electric sander? because i did mine and u have to use even pressure its pretty tedious and takes a lot of time... but you cant scratch carbon fiber so keep sanding!!

I used the sand paper untill the dust became gray. it means i came to the carbon fiber. Just keep sanding it down until u get rid off white dust, after white dust comes gray dust and that's when u r done sanding... make sure u get the bucked of hot water and something to wash it frequently... when you wash it, it also shows you the spots where the clear code is is still on... Thata what I did, and it worked for me.. I dont have any spots on my wing.. Hope it helps.

Wet sand and once you redo the clear, the "spots" will go away. They should.
