Shock/Strut question
i dont have any complaints w/ my monroes...but then again...my car rode like a boat since i bought it....till i swapped to new ones...and ive never been in another lancer so i cant compare...
(well...actually i did ride in otter's once....but his was lowered w/ 17's....altho it did have kyb's...i dont really remember a ride difference tho...)

You nailed it.
On Monroe's website they say for the rear the body of the Eclipse shock is 5.5 inches longer than the Lancer's even though they have a similar amount of travel.
For the front, the Eclipse strut body is 2 inches longer than the Lancer's and the Eclipse has 5.75 inches of travel versus the Lancer's 8 inches.

are the shocks on the rear of the sedan the same as the sportback? rock auto has the gr-2 listed but in the notes it say sportback/wagon just curious and if not would anyone happen to have the part number for the rear sedan gr-2's? thanks
Go to Monroe.com and compare there. They have specs like body length, extended length, stroke etc. They do not have valving and such though so damping could be different although dimensionally similar.
The part numbers for the Excel-G line are available through KYB's online catalog. You can compare the Sportback to Sedan models and see if they are the same part number. If so, chances are good that the GR-2 uses the same part numbers between the two cars as well.
