Mitsubishi's warranty will remain in effect. But on the Stage 3 their is very little left that is still Mitsubishi. The waranty from Forced Performance is 1 year Parts only and does not cover normal wear and tear (clutch etc).

So does it still cover the OEM mitsubishi parts like the engine, tranny, transfer case, etc?

^ According to the website, at stg 3 -- you start getting into a 2.3ltr built up engine. So that's what he must be talking about when he says very little Mitsubishi left. Actually, that sounds pretty reasonable IMO.

On the stage 3 we use a shep racing transmission. It does not have a Mitsu tranny or transfer case. We also use a custom built engine. The stage 1 and 2 do have Mitsubishi engines, tranny's and transfer cases and the Mitsu warranty covers those parts as long as a modification does not cause a failure. A common example would be taking a stage 2 with the upgraded clutch revvving to 5000 RPM and launching the car. Eveyone here knows that will break the transfer case, and that would not be covered. The stage 1 and stage 2 are designed to be very durable and be driven every day. FP has done a great job coming up with a turbo that spools quickly but does not create enough boost to cause any significant change to the combustion chamber teperature. the stage 1 is mostly just allowing the car to breath better (this makes a big difference on the MIVEC).

I'm very impressed! Especially with how reasonable and level-headed the warranty terms are. Any plans on opening a dealership in Albuquerque?

niiice. Robert at FP is a very smart fella. trust his judgment all the way...sounds like he put together a great package to compete with the WORKS, BR330, etc...only they(the dealer) are smart enough to put a Shep tranny into the cars...ahhahaahah!!!!!

Can Don Herring match the pricing of the Cali dealerships on a new IX and give me a good value on my 8?

QAT-R

Give Don a call. I seriously cannot begin to tell you what a great job Don has done getting involved with the North Texas Evo Club. Everything from service/parts discounts to allowing us to use the shop (lifts and all) for a full day club meet.

For clarification, are these packages/numbers for the IX? Or can they be applied to the IX and VIII?

+1, Good question -- I assumed it was just for newly bought IX's.
