3rd annual NTEC Shreveport Cruise - August 17-18, 2013
Everyone is welcome, whether you're part of NTEC or not! Feel free to meet up with us in Dallas and have an awesome weekend!
Dates: Saturday, August 17th through Sunday, August 18th
Meeting Time: 8:00AM
Meeting Location: Einstein Bagels - Dallas, TX
Destination:
Total Distance: ~575 miles (roundtrip)
Hotel: http://www.samstownshreveport.com/
Sam's Town Hotel & Casino on the Downtown Riverfront will be the official NTEC hotel. Room prices are $133/night for up to 4 people if you book using Expedia's mobile website ($166 elsewhere). We'll have tons of fun as a group Saturday night; first dinner at a very good Cajun restaurant, then drinking/gaming in the casinos and other local establishments within walking distance, and meet back up Sunday morning for breakfast/brunch before heading home.
The exact route is going to remain private to prevent law enforcement from staking it out (yes, it's happened). Maps of the exact route will be provided to all drivers the morning of the cruise; this will ensure everyone knows exactly where we're going just in case the group happens to get separated. We will make regrouping stops as required to keep everyone together though and we have a BBQ lunch spot about halfway through. It should be a very fun and scenic route taking us through three national forests! Sunday morning will be an easy < 3 hour drive home on Hwy 20.
Unfortunately E85 stations will not be available outside DFW until Shreveport/Bossier City, LA so please make alternate arrangements whether it be carrying spare jugs in your trunk or switching over to a pump gas tune when needed. If you're tuned on E85 please make sure to have the appropriate tune or OTS map loaded into your Accessport or laptop so you can switch over quickly at a gas station.
Everyone is welcome to join so please feel free to bring your spouse, kids, friends, etc! I hope to see all the regulars plus some new faces

Well, because I just can't leave well enough alone, I have made a few changes to the last Shreveport route which should include some really fun looking roads that we haven't hit before, while still keeping the group favorites in place! Total round-trip mileage will now be ~575 miles; the cruise route will be 386 of those.

Pre-cruise checklist:
1. check engine oil level
2. check coolant reservoir level
3. check washer fluid reservoir level
4. set proper tire pressure
5. verify all lights & signals are working
6. pack Accessport/laptop+Tactrix
7. check brake fluid reservoir level
8. check tire tread depths
9. check brake pad thickness
The less problems we have on the road, the more fun we'll all have!

Somewhat random post here - but I was at the Einstein Bagels on Saturday morning... picking up bagels and noticed a number of Evos... I was driving an SUV but my weekend driver when I'm traveling alone is an RX7... and I've always toyed with the idea of trading in my SUV for an EVO (or a subby *sough*). Anyways, some sweet looking cars guys - hope you guys had a great drive out there.
