Engine Oil Prices. Canadian Vs. USA
So I went down to buffalo with a secondary mission besides the door crasher stuff t bestbuy. and that was to get some oil. And when I got to the walmart I was floored at the price of Mobil 1 and other brands of oil. I always buy the Extended performance oils for my older cars and regular mobil 1 for the lancer. generally it would come up to about 40 to 50 dollars depending on which one i get.
But at Walmart down in the states, the price for 5w30 extended performance mobil 1 oil is 25 bucks for the 5qt jug. What the hell????? In canada the same product is about 55 bucks by the time you settle up with taxes at Canadian Tire. (which by the way isnt even a 5qt in some cases, its a 4.4) I think from now on I will be getting my oil down south on a regular. Just to note the 0w20 and 0w30 is available down there as well for in and around the same price. Its a hell of a deal. Brought back 5 jugs of the stuff. Fram filter was I think 5 or 6 bucks for the tough guard for 6 bucks I think. not sure if its a deal, I think they run about 9 bucks in canada.
And from time to time the price dips to about 22 dollars when its on sale for a big jug, blows my mind why there is a huge gap in price.
anyways just though I would share, I am sure the other brands of oil are respectively as inexpensive.

Cause I don't have the passport yet (lazyness is the fuel for the progress...), next time you're up for a trip south - let me know... This price is a hell of a deal for sure. I'm up for some big buy.

oddly enough, there was no tranny fluids at the two stores i went to.
I did however score 5L regular mobil 1 for 22 bucks, frig they even had royal purple for dirt cheap.
ago 4 jugs of the extended performance and 4 jugs of the 0w20 and 30.
