Are people really getting warranty revoked over tracking events

So I bought a new 15 evo mr WW yesterday. I was talking about the new extended warranty package with the finance guy when he told me that they have people at track days/events that are recording plates and voiding warranties. He was saying that one girl with an MR came in needing work done and she was black flagged...
Dose this really happen?
I'll probably still do a few solo 2 and 1 events but still...

It's happened in the past. Take your plate off and cover your vin if you're worried about it.

It only takes a minute to pull the plate and cover the vin#, avoiding the issue completely.

What about registration lists for said events? I know if I search for example SCCA auto-x results I can find events that I attended from years ago. Just something else to consider if you are concerned.

they would have to have proof it was the actual vin# car in question. I have only heard of this happening at sanctioned track days, where you receive time results. It is often the same with insurance, as it is driver improvement/instruction, up until you start getting time lap results. If your competing nationally, I would say you might have to worry, but locally you should be ok. I would take the extra 1 minute to remove it for piece of mind.
