CBRD radiator install & review...pic's inside

well when i got my turbo kit and installed it i really did not like the stock upper radiator hose placment and how close it came to the new manifold. so i was on the hunt for something different and came across the CBRD radiator. i have had my eye one it for a while and finally got to picking one up. and i must say i am VERY happy with what i got. here are some pics of how well it was boxed up and shipped to my house.

now here are some key features of the CBRD radiator

CBRD uses a delphi radiator core witch is used by IRL, Champ Car, ALMS, etc and is all aluminum

cool overflow coolent line braket

the fan 12icnh slim fan is professionally mounted to the rad.

T bolt clamps for the upper radiator hose.

some really cool upper radiator hose.... chad said this hose is super mega strong

the new radiator cap location.... yea yea i know u cant tell in this pic but just wait

i decided to add a little flavor to the install so i put some of that hot gold foil on the rad. came out real nice.

now for the install......

im sure most of the people on the forums know how to pull there stock radiators but just in case here is a 101 on a radiator R&R

1st thing you will need is tools.

10mm socket
11mm socket
12mm socket
3/8 ratchet
10mm wrench
pliers
oil/coolent pan
paper towel

next up start taking the upper radiator support brakets off the car using ur 12mm socket.

next up remove the over flow coolent line using a 10mm wrench. ''note'' on my car a socket would not fit because the manifold was in my way.

next take off the radiator cap. ''WARNING'' please only do this when the car is cold. this way pressure is less and ur less likely to burn yourself. then drain out the radiator using a 10mm wrench..... the drain plug is located on the bottom/side right of the radiator

after its all drained out remove your upper radiator hose using the pliers...

next take the lower radiator hose off the radiator only. no need to pull the hole hose.

now you should be able to pull the stock radiator out of the car.

MAKE SURE u pull the rubber inserts off the bottom of your stock radiator pins. these need to be installed onto the pins of the CBRD radiator.

now your ready to install your killer CBRD radiator. if you made it this far im sure you can figure out how to install it. if you have issues just reverse my steps on taking the stock radiator out.

WARNING. make sure befor you put your CBRD rad in that the drain plug is nice and tight.

tip. the new T bolt clamps use a 11mm nut. so that would mean to use the 11mm socket

and now here are the installed pics of the new CBRD radiator..... man i love this
thing.

I want that radiator so freaking bad!!! I will buy one as soon as my motor build is done, Chad can count on that!

I almost forgot to add that the radiator gives perfect room for that FR TS set-up you got there... makes the engine look extremely clean bro!! Looking good!

Now you got me thinking about getting one of these... UGH... Do you have a price for that unit as I see that their website is under construction?

<Off Topic> Where did you get the thermostat housing from pre-fabbed for water temp gauge? <Off Topic>
