Ivey Tech. excellent service (as expected).
* Last Sunday I decided to change my stock spark plugs (for the first time with just about 10,000 miles on the odomoter) after running alky injection for the last 3000 miles.
After changing my plugs (to BPR8ES) the car misfired, sputered, and stalled out.
I checked to make sure the coil packs were tight with the plugs, the coil pack harnesses were plugged in, and the plugs gapped correctly (0.026).
I also put back th stock plugs but the same happened.
* So I called Sean Monday and he told me to bring the car over on Tuesday.
How cool is that; I know how busy his shop has been lately, and he tells me to bring it in the next day!
I told Sean that I don't daily drive the car so we scheduled for 7/21/08.
* The car is flat-bedded to the shop and after waiting for Sean to dyno tune a G35, Sean says let's have a look.
Sean looks in the engine bay and tells me to hook my laptop to the car to check the AEM map.
I'm sitting in the passenger seat and Sean is inspecting the engine bay.
The next I know Sean jumps in the driver's seat and starts the car.
The car starts fine and idles smooth.
* Stupid me I cross plugged the coil packs (i.e. the plug for cylinder 2 was mixed with 4) which would throw off the ignition sequence of the plugs .
Sean says it's good to go.
So Sean diagnoses my car and fixes it in no more than 10 minutes for free.
I offered to buy Sean and the guys in the shop something to drink (it's hot today; at least 90+ degrees) and he tells me it's cool.
* Bottom line on Ivey Tech & Sean: Not only are they a great shop, but equally a great bunch of people that know how to treat bone-headed customer's like me .
