TRE: transmission Billet Oil Cooler adapter/Saviour of 4th Gear

Hello everyone, it has been a while since I have done a "how to" and a part review for the evo. Here is a relatively new product from TRE.

I did a quick write up on it and as always if you have questions, feel free to contact Jon at TRE.

Enjoy

Fantastic idea, how much more transmission fluid does it need, since their is a increae in volume change to avoid starvation?

-I see logic of making beefing up cooler fins (longevity), wouldn't efficiency be better with more and thinner fins?
-What is approximate clearance from ground to this unit?

He contacted me and we talked yesterday for a while. Email him. It's the best way to get a hold of him. He's a busy man, making stuff like this to keep our transmissions working flawlessly!

There's no increase in volume change. If anything, an ounce or two difference.

"Billet" means it was cut using a block of billet metal. It isn't cast.

Ground clearance shouldn't be an issue...

What's the cost? I don't see it listed on his website at the moment.

I don't think posting prices would make him very happy. You'll have to call him / email him with your phone number to get a price.

There is some incorrect info btw. The M6 bolts should not be torqued to 120 in/lbs (10 ft/lbs). They should be torqued to 7-8 ft/lbs.

Don't start bashing me and saying it's only 2-3 ft/lbs difference. When I spoke to Jon he said 10 was too much and not to go past 8.

yes and no. this has two outlets to install a cooler.
With a large enough cooler/fan and pump, you'll never have heat issues.
