My brother has a cobb stage 2 WRX. His car is VERY much slower when he puts the ECU back stock and just runs the stock programming. He also ran a 13.4 @ 101 on pump gas, full weight, etc w/ the cobb programming in place. 96 mph w/out the AP.

He also dyno'ed 232 whp, 240 wtq w/ the AP @ topspeed.

Congrats....its probably cause he can run the 93 octane that its probably designed for. Out here in Cali, the 91 octane sucks, although Shiv was able to get some awesome gains with it.

When I ran the "stock map" that was on the AP, it was slow as dog poop also. However, on the OEM ECU, it pulled pretty damn good....evidence is in the dyno charts.

We saw some similar results at our Dyno day at Harman motive last year. 3 cars from AWJ running Cobb stg2 pinging like crazy and all making 214hp 205tq, both with full catless TBE and K&N drop in filters. Hours later another WRX on the rollers turned 215hp and 210 tq with a catless downpipe and blitz muffler.

Yes Cobb has ****ty tunes. And their new CA 91oct map isn't much better than the previous.

amen . I was there when a Vishnu guy with a UNICHIP put down ~230whp on the stage 0 map when he was running the equivalent of stage 1.
