AEM Meth Kit - Nozzle Question...
Sorry for another AEM Meth thread, but I was wondering if the nozzles that are supplied with the AEM kit a good quality nozzle? Or should I invest into a better nozzle.
If I do, what nozzle would be the best to use and why?
Thanks!
Dan

Well, I do know that AEM doesnt suggest people running 100% meth on their pumps, but people do it anyway. I just want to make sure that the nozzle I use is a good solid piece.
Thank you,
Dan

It's good there are more posts about the AEM kit.
According to the instruction manual nozzles are as follows. M sizes are from http://www.srtforums.com/forums/f189...ulator-293343/
Small = 155cc/min = M2
Med = 315cc/min = slightly larger that M4
Large = 630cc/min = between M7 and M10
I assume these flows are at 150psi as this is what the pump is rated at.
I first tried the medium nozzle but then changed to the large one. With 50/50 water/meth this allows me to run 29psi and 4deg of timing at 3500rpm with the odd 1 count of knock. I start spraying at around 6psi and have max spray at around 28psi. My car is a stock block Evo 8, GSC S1 cams, 3" TBE, high flow cat, 10.5 hot side and AEM intake.
I'm no expert at this as its the first time I have tried water/meth injection but I'm pretty pleased with the results.
Nozzle image is from the instruction book.

Now I dont have meth, but Im running into that odd 1 knock count at full boost in the early rpms. Very odd, as I have tried fixing it with different various methods, but it continues to do so.
Why, if you dont mind me asking, did you switch to the larger nozzle?
Thank you for your patience and information!

It is pretty normal to have one or two counts of knock during spool up. Don't worry about it.
I tuned with the medium nozzle first and got reasonable results but thought there was more to come so I though I would experiment with the bigger nozzle. I ended up being able to run a bit more timing and consistently virtually no knock. The large nozzle is the way to go.

Youve been a big help John and I thank you very much! I truely appreciate it.
I believe I may be getting some phantom knock, which Is quite annoying because its not allowing me to tune my car at any sort of aggression.
If you can, John, I would appreciate if you could take a look at my 3 pulls I did recently, after fixing some things....
Thanks!

If some one want to send me their AEM nozzles I can flow test them and let you know. Else I think a call to AEM and they should be able to tell you.
