rapid cylinder wear w/pics again

If you knew anything about reading carbon traces, you would know. Smooth carbon ok, sandy pitted carbon bad. This motor probably had to much timing in the low to mid load ranges causing mild detonation. The upper ring land has scored at the very top of the cylinder, you can see the scoring only at the top, classic of mild detonation.
Bringing it back so people can learn something, and be properly informed. Hopefully your open minded, Consider yourself schooled.

Your knock detection doesn't work correctly.
Just because it'll pick up heavy knock under false conditions doesn't mean it'll pick up light knock under real conditions.
Water injection works best when its just water.
If you want to use methanol as well, put it in the fuel tank.
Have you ever thought about what happens when you use pure methanol in the water injection tank and you hit the rev limiter several times?
I'll give you a clue, a lean mixture of methanol/ air is prone to pre ignition.
Knock detection doesn't pick up pre ignition but pre ignition will go on to cause knock if it 's allowed to go on uncontrolled.

I built my first turbo car in 1990. it used water injection as only source of charge air cooling. The engine ran for 35,000 hard miles and was sold in perfect running condition when I decided to build a larger engine. i have been building turbo charged cars for most of my life. Most all of them used secondary injection of some sort. I have used virtually everything on the market. YOU HAVE NO IDEA who you are trying to educate. your vain insults will get you no where.
In short go away. unless your intention is to make me laugh

If you already know everything why are you asking for opinions then?
Pitted carbon+Upper cylinder scoring usually means deto/pre ignition
If it were to much fuel there would be no carbon at all, Pistons would wash clean around intake area.
Just saying

your reading comprehension sucks too. where was I ever asking a question? I am just sharing what I have learned with using methanol injection for 30k miles on two different engines. dont really care if you "get it". the information may be useful to those who do.

Bore wash is caused by too much fuel at low load.
In turn caused by hotwiring the fuel pump, then it over runs the stock FPR.
Fuel pressure at idle is out of spec, fuel trims change to try to compensate but it's still too rich.
Looking at the plugs tells you everything you need to know.

That thing would ping and sound like hail on a metal roof any time you put your foot into it and you had your foot into it constantly if you wanted it to move. On the highway it would rattle itself up every hill. During the few years we had that truck I don't remember it having engine trouble.
