Ohlins Instructions
Hey Guys. I'm finally upgrading from my Works Ride/Bilstein setup to some Ohlins/Hyperco/Works. I didn't get instuctions on assembling and installation, dont ask. Could you provide a link or something? I'm unsure what the proper method is for tightening down the top nut on the rear coilovers without having the shaft spin.
Thanks,
Chu

The best way is to use a strap wrench to hold the shaft in place, then torque the top nut down. Don't know the torque spec, though, maybe someone else can provide that.
The quick and dirty way is to give it a quick zap with an impact, and that should be enough, although you will want to check it periodically. Don't chug on the top nut with the impact for more than a split second or so, or else you risk tearing up the seals inside the shock. I usually don't recommend this, but it works if you need to put the car together to make the trip to get a strap wrench.

from what i remember you unscrew the collar of the adjuster. once the adjuster is off then you can get to the hex inside the shaft. use a hex wrench to hold the shaft from turning and a box wrench to tighten up the nut. once tight just screw the adjust back on and you're ready to go.
ps. there's a little spring under the adjuster in the shaft. make sure you don't lose that.
it shouldn't be a problem if you are pulling the adjuster off once the shocks are bolted in the car but if you're doing it out of the car then just make sure to keep an eye out for it so it doesn't fall out while on the workbench or something.
hope this helps
