Not sure why, but my bushings were way too small and couldn't lock into place. Even tightening them all down, my shifter base would slide around about a 1/4" as I tried going through the gears. I had to put the factory rubber ones back in.

dude, it looks like someone drilled out the shifter base...also they should be a 2 piece bushing. Either you got the wrong parts, or you installed them wrong...but it looks ****ed, and probably needs to be replaced.

Those are the ones speed source sent me maybe there are two different sizes? The under hood ones fit just fine. Yes there are two pieces each hole. I left the top one off to show the size difference. The stock rubber ones fit in those holes snug. I don't think anyone has drilled them out.

are they two different sizes? the bushings and the holes in the shifter base should all be the same size...in the pic you posted the shifter base hole on the left is significantly larger in diameter, and eccentric than the one on the right, which looks normal, that's where your slop is coming from...either that was hacked, or improper bushing installition cause it to wear like that...you need a new shifter base.

All four holes are the same size. The bushing on the left just isn't centered like the one on the right. I am thinking the bushings are too small as the stock rubber ones are tight in the holes.

if they are Evo 8/9 shifter base bushings they should fit tight. if they are the wrong size I would definitely give speed source a call...

I dont have speed souce ones. but my shifter base bushings are two piece. And they have a lip milled into them so that they actually sort of pop into the shifter base. looks like you have some parts missing.

Locating shifter cable bushings on 04 RA

Sorry If this is the wrong thread to post on, just had a quick question. Recently bought and installed works short shifter for the Evo 8 on my 04RA along with works base shifter bushings. I also bought the hybrid shifter cable bushings from works as well, was wondering if these will even fit.. http://store.worksmotorsports.com/mo....aspx?id=38710
there was a sale on MAP and so I said why not.
I was able to install the other two because there were detailed how to's along with pictures and videos too. When it came to setting up the cable bushings I couldn't find then.. or didn't know what I was looking for tbh and I was wondering if you guys could help.. thanks
