I just took the wing off though and I suprisingly like it! Only problem is I dropped one of the nuts and I cant get it out now! I'm thinking about looking for a new boodlid in the same colour and replacing it

 

Heh, without the wing you'd look like some gansta rollin' on yo 20's, but with it you'd look like some stupid teenager, etc. People can never make up their minds. I say keep the wing. Good looking car.

(btw, I know they are 19" rims, but you get the point)

 

LOL, I understand. I'm not a teenager, but I do admitt the wing gives that effect haha. I didn't put the wing on though. My car came from the factory with the wing and 17" rims. It was part of some package they put together. I didn't complain!


Without the wing it looks more classy, thats for sure. I'm actually liking it... Obviously I need a new bootlid because mine has holes in it but I like the look without the wing. The missus also agrees.

Did you need spacers or any kind of fender rolling? Looks like it wouldnt fit if you were lowered, wouldnt need it anyways, and here I am worrying about fitting 18 onto mine haha.

 

He said that he just put on the 19" rims and they fit. Check the first page.

And it definitely makes the car look classier and more expensive without the wing.

Hey, looks totally boss without the wing! How much did the HID's set you back? The stock headlights on all Lancers are woeful (even the EVOs).

 

I orginally had spacers on the rears but I took them off and the wheels fitt but only by mm's! I bought the rims off a friend who had them on a Mazda so I was able to try them before buying.

I have scopped it out and I can lower the car... I'd have to do some modifications though so I'm unsure on whether I want to do it or not. I'd have to cut away at some plastic in the guards. I think it would look sweet lowered just 1-2inch.

Some suggestions have been to put a littlelip wing on the back to square it off a little bit.

I'm liking it off but it can't stay off with this boot because it has holes in it haha. I'm going to try and find a wrecked car without a wing to take the boot off.

I bought the HID's off ebay for $260aud around 12 months ago.

 

Yeah, keep the wing off!!!!

Nearly every other ES has a wing, so by NOT having one, it makes your car unique. heh.

 

I think that ES's are the only models in aust that you can get without wings. I saw one today in the same colour as my car so it got my hopes up to finding a wrecked one. I haven't seen any VRX's without wings in australia though, so yes it would make mine unique haha.

 

Yeah, what I mean is that Mitsu were almost always offering the ES with 'free' alloys and spoiler. Hence, why a lot of them have one.

The ES and LS were the models which were wingless from factory. You will have to look at 2005+ models though, as the old 2.0L CH didn't come in that grey, unless you want to bother with a re-spray of a different colour, heh.
