slc....I love those wheels on your car! I always thought 17's would look better, but those tires filled the space nicely.

Thanks. I do track days and the occasional autocross and so sticking with 16's was my best bet. They are really light wheels. Only 16.7 lbs per wheel. I think a drop will be on the horizon as soon as my factory struts blow.

Fall Detail Pics

Did a full detail over the weekend and thought I would share a few more pics. First claybar'd the car, next used Meguiar's Gold Class polish, and followed it up with Mothers FX syn wax. I also removed the Ralliart vinyl from my side skirts.

Debating going wingless. Need to figure out an option for the third brake light.

Excellent paint detailing. I'll be doing that soon. Clay bar makes a difference, doesn't it.

btw, When i installed an evo wing I needed a different third brake light so i got one from the wreckers off an old Ford sedan, the kind that fit inside the rear window and sit on top of the parcel shelf. A nice easy project (hmmm, is there every anything "easy" when it comes to car mods?)

I wonder if the ES third brake light is plug n play with the Ralliart spoiler plug. RalliartN, how hard was the wiring. I assume just a ground and a power right?

Thanks The rims are relatively cheap and available in multiple colors.

Car looks great slc! And im fairly certain there is a plug for the ES 3rd brake light on the underside of the rear deck. you should see it from inside the trunk its mounted to the metal there. I think. If that doesnt work id just splice it into the one for the stock wing. Thats what I did for a DIY 3rd brake light I made.

any third brake light will work, as RalliartN has proen, but if the harness has an unused plug under the deck, then an ES 3rd light would be too easy...

Slc, I said it once and I'll say it again. I love those wheels on your car! The detailing is awesome too, looks better than showroom to me. Super clean! I'm gonna need to get me one of those claybar things.

EDIT: Just realized you and truthdweller have the same wheels.

I used the LED emblem I found on eBay as my 3rd brake light. Just used the side-by-side connectors things instead of splicing and it only took about 15 minutes, but as was said above, the ES 3rd would probably be the easiest if the harness is already there. A couple people are selling their evo 3rd's in the marketplace for around $30 too.

Yeah I'm pretty sure Truth copied me on the wheels I don't care though since we are in different states. For some reason I love white wheels. I think my next car will be a white Ford Focus ST with white wheels.

Thanks for the info on the Emblem. That is not a bad idea. I still may stop by a pick n pull and grab an es third brake light.

BTW if anyone wants some es tails, I found a set being sold locally.

What was said above is true...it's exactly what I did (plugs right into an unused harness under the decklid).

From the donor ES, I'd encourage you to pull the whole rear deck too, as you'll need to cut holes in your deck for the light to come out (obviously). Use the spare ES deck as a template for where to cut your RA one (fabric's a different color). Also, the ES housing's a light grey/beige (depending on what you find), so you may want to paint it before throwing it in the car.
