Initially I was concerned because there were some metal bits in the exhaust manifold, but it looks like the amount of oil that went with them prevented them from being sucked through the turbine because the turbine looks fine, no dings, not even a single scratch. That being said I figure the center section should be ok because any oil with metal bits would be in the filter and should never have entered the turbo's center section.

It wanted to get out, but the starter did a pretty good job keeping it in...

That sucks man. That stock piston made easy work of the block. I just skimmed the past few posts but did you find the cause?

the connecting rod did the majority of the work...it's really hard to say what caused it because everything is so destroyed...

Makes sense.

Just trying to be helpful here: I thought the evo has underpiston oil cooling (just a little pipe that shoots a stream of oil)? If so, it's worth researching if it can be retrofitted on your future built engine. Common now on high hp/liter street bikes due to the heat issue. Also, cast pistons have higher hot strength that forged items (best to double check but I believe that is true).

Yea Garrett showed it to me once before. The oil squirters can be added to the 4g69. The oil passage is there it just needs to be tapped into and have the squirters threaded in.

On a side note that 800hp 4g69 that mitsuorder built. He used forged conrods and pistons but he never added the oil squirters. It would make sense to add them for safety sake thought.

yes, all 4G6x block have the same oil passage that can be drilled and tapped for oil squirters...i have been thjinking about this a lot lately, but i think the main problem with our stock pistons is the narrow top ring land...

back to the drawing board...

Wow, this is insane. I just read up on everything that happened...

I guess 'NEVER GIVE UP!' is your NINDO (ninja way) as well!!!

We love our Ralliarts and making them better and better is just the tip of the iceberg.

I know I have been trying to set up a date to meet at your place but I've been so caught up with life and work here. I've been doing some work on my RA (check my thread ) and I'm very happy with the progress.

I'm glad to see that your RA is doing fine. Endless possibilities! Can't wait to come over sometime! Keep us posted alright?

Take care brother!
