About a week for ceramic coat, which might work out for the better, for my oil pan bung came in yesterday but it was the wrong part, imagine that! So MAYBE, by the time it gets reordered and gets delivered, both projects will get completed together!

Check it out:

I shopped around all afternoon for a couple of parts, a 25mm inside diameter hose to connect the recirculation valve to the intake pipe, and a rubber O ring for my MAF sensor... I was successful with both. Went to the shop at about 6 o'clock tonight and the welder and I went to work...

We decided to rotate the recirculation valve 180 degrees so, now, it is sitting upside down on the underneath side of the UICP instead of sitting on top of it (more clearance for the hood as well). This way, the recirculation valves 25mm outlet hose connection sits in a straight line with the return tube on the intake pipe.

With the intake pipe, Hackish also sent me a 90 degree aluminum elbow which was welded onto the other end of the UICP, which makes a nice bend around the battery before it dives down the overflow reservoir space, as in RRM'S kit below:

Speaking of the overflow reservoir, I discovered that the OEM reservoir fits almost perfectly in the same general space from which it came, yet sits right next to the vertical section of the UICP, which occupies the same space, at the corner of the battery. It sits underneath the 90 degree bend at that corner.I am surprised that RRM didn't do the same thing with their kit. Anchoring it will be trivial.

We have to remember that hackish designed these charge tubes for a manual transmission and I am mocking it up for a automatic transmission so, revisions, sometimes multiple, were expected. It is actually coming together pretty nicely, even after the multiple welds, if you ask me. I will take more pictures and post them on Thursday.

Oops, my last video wasn't subtitled...I changed it to the correct one. Kinda reminds me of the Jeff Gordon video, although, having a spouse, this one hits home!

The shop put a 90 degree elbow in the oil return line creating 4-6 inches of parallel line back to the oil pan. I need downhill line back to the pan, correct? They want me out of their shop, I know, and did the work when I wasn't there or consulting with me...goes to show you. I told them more than once that its gravity back to the oil pan and it needs to be downhill with NO bends. My car is off the lift now and pushed outside in the dirt awaiting payment.

Edit: Got my answer: "100% of the setups I built were downhill." - hackish-

that's why i stay away from shops...you can have a bend in your line, as long as it's continuously down hill...

Garrett, quick question:

Can I tee off of the recirc valve vacuum line to get boost for my AEM Boost Gauge, and what slot in the OBD connector do I use to data log boost or is this calculated using the MAP sensor?
