...my budget was 4k right? And I ended up spending how much...$5500? Well that's $200 shy of what they charged me.
Just in case I wasn't clear, I was $1500 over budget and they charged me $200 less than that, or $1300...
I almost wept when I saw that!

I got to push my Kuhmo's yesterday a bit and WHOA....sticky or what?! There's a large 360° radius where I can enter the turn at 80mph and my old Yokohama's would start to squeal if I tried to maintain and exit at 70 mph. These Kuhmo's were silent, accelerating out of the turn comfortably at 70!

1500 is kinda steep. though I did not pay shop prices for welding, I did cut my own charge pipe, fit it all with couplers, marked mating surfaces for correct angle. all that it needed was welding. the manifold we did at the shop, because it was thick steel, cutting it myself would have been tricky, nothing that couldn't be done with a bench vice, a sharpie, angle grinder, cut-off wheel and beer.

this goes to show what shops are willing to charge for this type of work...I remember, it think it was Raikiri saying a shop quoted 10 large for a turbo kit...all-in.

I didn't like the kumho tires I had, they were noisy and had squishy sidewalls, they were like 320-340 treadwear.

the Kumho tires you have are actually 10% stickier than my Dunlop ZII, and they cost less, lol. how's your alignment? go slightly negative camber if you haven't already. try even .5 or 1 degree. also, you tires will wear very quickly.

After replacing the axle, the camber wasn't marked so my alignment is off again. The noise isn't an issue for its already loud inside. Yeah, I've already rotated them and I just bought them! How do you determine "squishy sidewalls"?

I felt the same thing with the Kuhmo Ecsta SPT tires I had on my old car. The tires felt less firm at speed, taking corners was harder, the car sort of flailed a bit more than when it was on the previous Goodyear's, only way I can describe it was the sidewall's were "squishy" :P

basically you can feel them wanting to roll off the wheels, they have a lot of lateral deflection, and when they start scrubbing they are quite loud.

those are the exact tires I had previous to my current set, Ecsta SPT KU-31. They were ok for daily driving, but any aggressive cornering, they quickly showed their weakness. I did find though that they were predictable, and also performed better on a wet surface than my dunlops, but it's typical of really high performance tires to have less water dissipation channels, in favour of a more rigid tread...

Hey Gary, I am sure you would have no trouble convincing the local officers the car is totally stock, LOL.

Nice to see a pix of what I will be working on.

Props to Bakuro for 'shopping" these for me. He said he had a problem with matching the red but it serves the purpose...

I know what I think, what do you think?

My original vision was keeping the hood red and the rear wing red with the ground effects black. Then the hood was installed black and it gave it another personality. Definitely the black rear wing with the black hood and ground effects!

Might set it off with a light tint on those rear lens. Otherwise looks good with the color combo

Used the existing bump stop holes to mount the pins...
