I've had my endeavor TB on for about 5 weeks now, and I don't get any whistling sound in the higher RPMs like some of you, but thru my daily driving, I've come to these approximated results.

In ANY gear, between 1700-2700 RPMs, when I give 20% throttle (and stay there) there is a "hisssssing" sound. It is loudest in 2nd gear, but I definitely hear it in every gear as long as I am within the parameters stated.

I don't hate it, it sounds awesome. I wish it would sound like that all the time. Any ideas why I am getting this?

mine does the same thing, I assumed its just bigger and sucking more air. Kind of like when you blow at the right angle on the lip of a glass bottle it makes that whistle, I assumed when the butterfly valve opens at the right angle it does it lol. I love it too!

I just installed the TB. After letting it idle for 10 minutes I took it for a test drive. I've notice a nice difference, throttle response way better, overall a good mod.
BUT... I have one little issue. Everytime at idle when I turn the steering wheel the rpm jumps a few times between 1000 and 1700rpm and then it goes back down to 700. Now since I have an automatic, when I come to a complete stop I have to brake harder since the rpm jumps up and down. Will this go away in time, once the ECU is done with learning and will this put extra stress on my transmission?

When you swapped it, did you disconnect the battery?

Yep. Did the relearning thing too and it doesn't do what yours does

This morning after I drove to work the rpm didn't jump up and down anymore but when I come to a complete stop the rpm are going down slower then before. I'll give it more time, hopefuly the ECU will adjust that too.

So, how's the TB working out? Has your computer learned to compensate or is the idle still wandering?

I want to try one of these on my 04 sportback, but if it doesn't get nearly stock drivability, it's not going to happen.

Dacib will pop in with his opinion soon I'm sure but I've had the gt tb for over a year now with no idle or rev issues to date, just saying

Had mine since April now with not one issue. My only problem... wishing I would have put it on sooner lol.

Sorry I thought I post it this... The idle went back to normal after like 20 miles. I've had it already for 3 weeks and did a couple of resets since then(installed the timing box) and never had a problem with the idle ever since.

I'll be doing some junkyard prowling soon. My other rides are an 88 Chevy truck and I've got a 99 accord that needs a bunch of work too. I'll be looking for an Endeavor or GT TB.

If you're around Miami, the junkyard in Hialeah has a couple of them.

Thanks. I've got a couple of yards to check out locally. We're closer to Orlando, about half an hour inland from Daytona.
