It did without it. The hole in both pistons has different deepness. The longer piston (OEM RA) has a deeper hole in it. So basically, if you could x-ray my pic, placing both pistons seal to seal, the bottom of the piston hole would be at the same spot on both pistons.

It works flawlessly to this day.

I'm wondering what would happen if you were to tap the hole leading to the silly little plate area, and thread-lock a bolt into it to seal it off. No more black gunk from the plate seal, but would anything change as far as MC function? Anyone with a spare/dead MC care to give it a try?

The only issue I see with this is that there will be a pocket of air trapped in the tube running from the bleeder to the plug. It would possibly cause soft pedal issues. but I suppose if you tapped it, then bled it, then put the bolt in, then that would probably work.

I would suggest www.rockauto.com. You can select the currency at the top once you start it. I'm not sure how much shipping would be for you though, but that was the best deal for me here up in Canada

Update : Still no problem after a year. The Mx6 piston works perfectly.
