sloppy 5 speed 2006 ralliart shifter

A few shifter issues on a F5M42. I've searched but can't find any threads that have this particular issue. If I missed it my apologies. Seems like I shouldnt be the only person with this issue but I couldn't find any other threads with the same issue. I'm currently building a rallycross car out of a 2006 ralliart. Bought the car a couple weeks ago with a dead motor. So I don't have a lot of history on it. (t-belt jumped, bent some valves) put a new used motor in and all is good. Having some issues with the shifter though. At first it wouldn't go into first or second. Found out a bushing is missing on the control lever at the control housing on the tranny itself. Once that was replaced it found 1st and 2nd no problem. It actually shifts really nice (I put sychromesh in). Last issue is the shifter is incredibly sloppy. It engages the gears fine, but if its in 1st gear you can move the shifter all the way over to the 3rd gear spot. I have ordered new cable bushings from RTM Racing (should be in next week) but the existing bushings are not worn at all. Almost look new. I took the center console out and made sure nothing was missing there. According to the FSM it's all there. Any thoughts? Is there anything in the shift housing on the tranny I should be looking at?

Ok i figured it out. Thought I'd post my findings here in case anyone else has the same problem. On one of the shift linkages on the transmission itself is a poly shoe. That shoe was missing. Everything is like new now. {thumbup}
