I think the whole idea is a safety issue, yeah it may sound good, but when you have a leak like that, you are bound to be puttin Carbon monoxide into the car.... hats off to his inginuity but bad safety issue.

the only piece i would get is the downpipe, but it doesn't come with a cat, so it's kind of untouchable for me. I want to pass emissions

emissions are a big deal as well, why not just break down and get a muffler with better sound baffles built in, it will give you a louder sound without the compromise of safety and emissions.

or just fab up a straight pipe that goes from the flange to out in the stock location thats what i did for the time being and it suond s better (ie less ricey) than my friends civic or my other friends neon. and the neon has a cat back and the civic has a 150 dollar trash can muffler. they were pissed...i laughed
drawback: when i went on a road trip i put my stocker muffler back on for the quietness on teh highway and i have not been able to get the check engine light to stay off since.. what a pain in the ***. i think i have to take the muffler back off.

Azure, It's possible to be a little too serious, ya know. Some of the above posters were being a little mean (to a not too bright idea), but no one here wants or needs a lecture from you.

they take out their mufflers, but they run straight pipes to the rear.. to vent out the gases..
