i can launch my RA pretty good , but as soon as i shift to secont gear my rpms drop low,. when i launch at 2500 rpms and shift to the next gear they drop to 4500 rpms, if i launch at 3000 and shift it drops to 4000. why does this happen ?

what i meant was...

if you are dropping at higher rpm's and getting a lot of spin, when you go to shift, the rpm's will drop more...but if you are dropping at lower rpm's and not spining, when you shift, the rpm's won't drop as much.

try dropping at lower rpm's and feather the gas to get rid of hop and spin.

this is the problem with RA's

 

I launch @ 2000 rpm's to minumize wheel-spin as soon as the tires grip I floor it to 6500 rpm's and shift and floor it again. I get a small chirp in second and then take it up to 55 mph or about 6300 rpm's then shift again. I'm all stock btw. I have seen a lot of people who rev too high and it slows their launch. I figure that so long as you stay in the MIVEC range, acceleration should be good.

 

it drops at high rpms. i'll try lower rpms to see what happens.

 

this is also the problem with turbo lancer / ra / fwd w/o lsd
