Damnit.

The Ra lost a battle with a telephone box last night. Was going down a two lane when the suv infront of me slammed on the brakes. I pushed on my brakes to slow down, i wasnt that close, and hit the patch of ice she manuvered past, fish tailed about 4 times before doing a 180 into a telephone box that had been cut and was about the height of my car and slid about 20 feet into a field. The weather was extremely bad, as the me, the statie and tow truck driver had to run for cover a few minutes later when a second car hit the same patch and did a full 360 degree spin before ending up in the field alittle bit up from me. The phone box and the field were a better ending, on the other side of the road is a irrigation ditch about 6-7 feet deep, car sized wide and extremely steep walls. I got a ticket fromt he officer for totally destroying the phone box (public property bull****). The Ra was towed to a local shop. Somewhere around 3000 dollars worth of dammage was the estimate from the tower...but who knows. Front bumper gone, side panneling..thrashed, front right light..gone as the same for that whole side of the hood..plus a bunch of other ****..
Luckily I survived with two small black eyes from the steering wheel, some seat belt burn and a bruised pride....and my poor car..
Anyways, I'll try and get pictures if i can..

Here's the link to the Classefield forum if you're interested in used parts... All US Lancer ES parts (body mainly) will fit the RA.. Just no side skirts and ground effects:

Good luck with the repair

I hit a squirrel last night. My cars ok, but the same can't be said for the former. I had an actual run in not to long ago with my car. I hope the uibody isn't hurt. If it is, the car is never the same.

Definately no damage with a squirrel. I hit a wild turkey once and sent it into a million pieces and I had little to no damage(couple scratches) and feathers all over my car

well, the damage is going to be more than 3K if history has shown us anything..... from what you describe, without frame damage, it's prob closer to 6K+ ....... I've been there in hte past 18 months, and it really sucks. And I can't believe they gave you a ticket for wrecking public property. You should get a lawyer and argue that if the municipality had done a better job of sanding the roads, you wouldn't have gone into that ditch in the first place. Cite the examples of the SUV in front of you and the other car that the tow driver had to run from.

Best of luck!!
