Hello folks, just in to catch on what will be my future car forum. Im on transactions to invest in a Lancer Ralliart. It will be that charcoal grey like color, manual of course, with the sunroof and sound package.

So the mandatory questions arise for me to ask. Im a past Mirage owner...a fast Mirage owner so I pretty much know about mitsu engines and that kind os stuff.

My plans for the RA will begin with a CAI system, AEM or RRM whichever is available when I get the car. I will use the progress suspension system as I do in my Mirage...I have a question as well, Is the RA's front suspension the same spring set of the regular Lancer which is in fact the same as the Mirage?
I will also get a down pipe and delete the cat, From the post Ive read,(I used the search like a champ) and I see that only the downpipe lights the CE light so I guess that without a cat the possibility increases. The rear suspension will stay the same if the front layout is the same as the Mirages. I will also change the stock muffler to the 2.4 Galant one, as the exhaust opening is bigger but sound will be reduced greatly...or so I hope. Piping will remain stock thru the breaki in period, which will be a period of constant abuse.

Im seeing a problem with the stock shifter as well with many ppl having a hard time upshifting while accelerating, which is not good but there should be ways around it.

as for the fron suspension, the RA has the same suspension set up as the OZ, not the Ls(i think) and for sure not the ES, the DP does cause CEL, but im pretty sure a few people a figured a way around that...

all i can say is break the car in hard, and it'll be good to you for a long time,

 

Thanx for the Re's. The reason I ask about the suspension is that I have an extra set of Progress springs for a Mirage Ls, the go down 1.8 inches. The RA comes a little to high for my taste in front, but just perfect in the back. I also forgot to add the RRM piggyback in the Mods

 

If you look on the progress page, you can get the part numbers. see if the RA and Mirage share the same part number. if so, its a match =) my advice would be to wait on the piggy because there is alot of progress being made with the emanage, which gives you a whole lot more control for just a small price difference. if you want to get aftermarket cams, differen pistons, cam gears, or use any type of forced induction, you will need the extra features. you sound like you have been around the game long enough to manage the extra work involved. It seems that the PR guys are pretty good /w this stuff per capita =) But, if you are set on the RRM piggy for the simplicity, I might be selling mine soon. Also, I may be helping a few other guys in PR get catback exhaust made up from VRS exhaust in Miami and shipping them over. Check out this thread for details. If you want in, I could add one more. You ever see Malvin's car? Might want to stop by and talk to him, as well. Hes got the baddes RA in existance, all on your little island. lucky u =)

 

This is an easy fix. First, get yourself this kit, it'll greatly increase your shift accuracy and feel -> http://www.lancershop.com/customer/p...3&cat=6&page=1

Then, to deal with that pesky 1-2 shift, get some urethane and fill your front motor mount. It'll keep the engine from moving around too much thus keeping the shift cables in line.

 

About the motor mounts, theres no problem, as I know how to fill mounts and Ive been fiddling with an engine movement damper design(More on results later). The way I see it, I might end up waiting for both the eManage and the shifter.

Haha also, I dont know how you guess on the modding on the engine. I plan to modify in the N/A area until I find another Mivec engine from a crashed Ralli... Even though that saddens me, but Ill build it from the ground up to be a turbo engine

Another thing is that I would like to know if the car can hold wearing 14 inch rims. I got a pair of Toyo RA1s that I use for the Mirage on track days. I guess not, but nevr tooo stupid to ask

 

15" steelies will fit. Nobody has tried 14's, but I doubt they'd clear the calipers.
