Wait, to clarify this, you mean leave the header....and remove everything else? Yeah you would lose power, that would probably be the least of your worries though.

bad idea.. not only that i'd assume the car would be spittin' flames and could possibly cause damage over time?

Soundwise...

Bizzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz....

what the hell is the point of the 4" dia. tip?...so that it scrapes the pavement as you drive? Or are you trying ot provide a nesting area for ground hogs when you park it?

HP'wise...

well with the groundhog stuffed in the tip, you might have some flow issues...

But seriously, why 4" dia?

The 2.5 is probably fine, but maybe even a little big for only a 2.4L NA motor, you might see some loss in torque due to the reduced back pressure. (At least I think that some backpressure is a good thing for a NA motor, but if I'm wrong I'm sure it won't be long until I've been corrected. Thanks guys )

well 2.4L engines are loud in general, and with an exhaust it'll be much louder than it would be if you put a 2.25 or 2.5 on a 2.0L vs the 2.4L obviously... Just for comparison sake... Also my car just has an intake and catback and i can hear the exhaust popping as the backfires are being muffled by the cat... sooo if i ran catless it'd be pretty loud... Does anyone else notice the small backfire pops?

Its normal to do that when you let off the gas. If it does it at any other time, you've got a problem.

I've got the pops, only they are a little louder b/c I have high flow cat with a flow through muffler (3.5" tip, btw )

When I am very slightly on the throttle there is a point where I can hold it and get a constant stream of pops coming from the exhaust. Car won't even accelerate at this throttle position and loses speed very easily, but when I am coasting downhill for instance with my foot barely on the gas this happens.

why don't you just disconnect the stock muffler and run it catless? Sure, in 1st-to-2nd gear you'll have more wheel hop, in 2nd and 3rd gear excellent acceleration, but once you hit 4th gear your car will be dead... nonetheless something good for getting better drag times.

another downside is if you have a leak right there, before the stock muffler, for a long time your rear suspension could be severely damaged.

Ive had my magnaflow for a couple of weeks now and its been great and it looks perfect it fits the cut in the bumper exactly how i had hoped. The sound is kinda up to you as for the size of tip you get i got a 4" diameter out but the in was 2.5" and its got a pretty nice rumble but i got the race series they make a more quiet one if thats what your going for as well as a silencer but i dont think the silencer is too attractive.
