Automatic RA

Ill start this post with the fact that im probably the only loser on this entire forum who bought an Automatic RA and i have had buyers remorse ever since, not of the car its great and i love everything about it other than the fact i cant shift. I have a friend who tells me that there is some sort of gear box i can install that will make my car shift better or faster some how that will make it faster and better than a standard. Is this true? if so any one know where i can get it?

-06 Lancer RA (Phoenix Red) Automatic
-Evo 8 Wing
-Eye Lids
-Vortex Generator
-2.5"Catback Magnaflow Exhaust
-Windows and visor tint

i've never heard of this before but if you find w/e it is let me know.

also check out the RA classifeds and look at the zaklee torque dampener. it holds the engine in place great and made a world of difference in downshifting and coming off the line.

You are referring to an AT shift kit which basically allows an auto to shift between gears quicker. The way I understand it, the ATs in Lancers are incompatible with shift kits (this song-and-dance has been on these forums before, but I can't remember or find why; something about it being electronically controlled and not having valve bodies). So to answer your question, you can't upgrade your AT this way.

Also, you're not the only 'loser' who bought an AT. I specifically chose an AT because at the time I did far too much stop-and-go driving. I regret my AT now because I drive nowhere near as much as I did, but I also now have a bike which will smoke pretty much anything that has more then 2 seats installed, so I'm not worried about it.

i got it and it works great. must do even more on the manuals. Ralliart50 has an auto to (90% sure he does anyway) and he reccomended it to me saying it would help even an auto and hes right.

I apologize if i offended anyone with the "loser" comment on my AT. I didnt realize so many people had them or i wouldnt of felt as bad i expected much more comments on the fact that i had chosen the AT vice the standard

haha i also have an auto and CC does as well!! yeah manual would have been nice but i dont think id be able to keep it under 3500rpm much...my friend has the manual and he gets around 300km to the tank cause he revs high!....also ive heard that its better to turbo an AT cause u dont lose as much boost between shifts

The only thing i dont like is that my car with CAI and Axel-back gives me as much whp as a stock manual. The pulley i have helps alot with low end though.

I have an auto as well with several mods, having an auto isn't that much of a downer, it's a great fast car.

ive heard that too but i dont know how much more effective it makes us over a manual. especially since almost everyone who has a turbo in our car runs low boost so theres not much time to spool anyway.

I almost got a 2004 RA (VR-X) second hand that was AT, but its was like 'sports mode' I think they called it and you could either be in drive or change gear by the UP and DOWN buttons on the stearing wheel which was kinda cool. I didn't really want an AT though, I was sick of that.
