Torque Damper Issue

or not..?

Well I installed the torque damper and everything is working fine and what not. A quick review can be found here: https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...31#post4210931

But when I start the engine, the cabin makes a slight rattle. Anyone with a Zaklee T/D have this problem? Rob, can you help us here?

Anything I should look out for?

So I tried to find out why it rattled.

When I open the hood and start the car its fine. But when the hood is closed, it rattles. I think the very top part of the TD hits the hood a little when the engine is fired up.

Anyone else have this problem?

it should rattle some. the point of the damper is to stop the engine movement, so your car absorbs the rattle. its even more pronounced with motor mounts.

It only rattles when I start the car, like a vibration and thats it.

When I'm idling its fine. I think also when I reverse, I hear like a "clank" noise. Nothing major.

Just wanted to make sure this was the case with you all.

Anyone else?

umm.. seriously... how much could that weigh? It is like 3 pounds tops. The more solid your motor and trans is mounted, the less wheel hop, and more solid the shift.

^ Thats right.

The weight of the motor mount wouldn't make any difference to 'added weight'.

wrong, for a NA 4 cyl every ounce counts. That's why if you have groceries in your car it's slower than without. Don't ever doubt the fact that your mods can add negative weight, you just have to be sure it is worth the added strain on the motor for your application.

It probably does, but I don't think its that noticable to be honest. But I see your point, every ounce does count though.

The main reason I said that is that some people are putting both on the car when there is clearly only a need for one or the other. It's not a lot of weight, but I am sure most of the people are on here are concerned with squeezing it out

PLEASE GOD!!

man 3 pound wont make any differance in any car , no matter what

maybe, JUST maybe on a race car, 3 pounds will maybe be noticible here:
0.00000X on the X

excuse me but It wont make your car slower to add pounds

EVEN 25 pounds wont give you 1mph on the 1/4 mile...
