Best shift points...

Well, we're taking lancer_evo_06's RA out to the track tonight to see what we can do. I am gonna make a couple of passes in it, and am wondering about where's the best shift points. All he has is the RRM Cat-back, so would 6500 be good?

Also, what kinda times can we expect? I'm thinking we'll break into the 15's fairly easy, even though it is known as a slow track (i always run slower at this 1/4 mi. track than the 1000ft track i go to, 1000ft times on both i mean)

We'll have to postpone mine and his re-match at the track, my starter or ignition switch is messing up in my crx, causing the starter to hang sometimes.

I like to shift at around 5800-6k...to me anything after that it doesn't pull as hard.

True BUT you're not in powerband when you shift... you have to redline or almost WHEN you're stock (including minor performance mods)

I also like to shift at 6 just cause I can tell I've lost a lot of torque beyond that.

I bounce off the red-line to keep in the powerband!

I'd just go out and drive and try shifting at all different RPM's to try and see what worked best for me.

that sounds about right, our gearing between first and second kinda sucks(too much lag going into second).

Well thats what i would think, but i'd probably shift between 6K and 6.5K to keep it in the powerband for the next gear.

Doesn't matter now, we didn't get to make it to the track tonight.
