Okay, so after reading a million and 3 threads about HIDs, im going to give you my input from the install I just did.
I bought my 6000k kit from ebay. It came with everything and claimed to be plug and play. Once I got the kit, i saw 2 cables that came with it. One the regular cable with connections to ballast and other connections. We used this cable the first time through. To get the light to sit securely and properly we had to dremel the plastic holder piece from the headlight by a few MM. Once that was in securely, we connected all the cables and tested it and it worked great.
We unhooked everything, reconnected it and hid all the wires we could, secured the ballast to the car and iti was all fine and dandy.
So driving home I noticed one thing within 10 minutes. After going over a fairly large / vicious bump, my headlights went off for a second then back on. No problem, just a cable was touching another one.
Then the big problem i found, when i turn my car on and the DRL come on. my lights would strobe. the only way it would be fine is if i turn my headlamps on. This was the big problem everyone was talking about.
So that other cable now comes into play. That cable has a relay switch on it along with all the connections you need to both ballasts, + / - battery and all.
So we hooked this up. The cable is a little bit bigger and bulkier, so it was a bit trickier to find a spot for it. AFter finding a decent spot, we hooked everything up, both postivie / negative to battery, both grounds from the ballast, all the connections.
SO after everything has been done, I turn my car on and no more strobe issue. My DRL are now my HIDS, which is perfectly fine with me. Sure they will be on whenever im driving, but really..who cares?
All in all, easy easy install once you see it, and if you are having the strobing issue with your DRL, you may want to look into getting a relay cable for yoursetup.

re-do your wires...or else expect to buy a new ballast within 3 months...

exactly as my HIDs
an I also had to dremel the BULB holder a few MM!
My hid was about the same but I just mounted the ballast using the double sided tape onto the side of the headlamp there is a nice flat spot that holds them perfectly...my fav. upgrade to my car so far...
