mivec kicks in later on 06???

I heard that on the 2006 ralliart the mivec kicks in later than on the 2004 ralliart... does anybody know if this is true?? and if it is, does it give the 2006 a little less kick or torque???

I don't see how this would be true, but in any case I'm fairly sure mivec for 04 kicks in around 3-3.5k rpm. I can't be certain. Can you tell us when it seems to kick in for you?

i just heard from some guys that had a 2004 ralliart that it was the case, i really watched my rpms on the way home and it seemed that it kicked about 3500 to 4000, i'm just seeing if anyone else had heard the same thing.

i can confirm that on my 2006 ralliart it kicks in at around 3500 rpms.
it can be easily tested... accelerate in 2nd or 3rd gear at about 1/2 to 3/4 throttle... at 3500 rpms i can feel a considerate boost in acceleration.

Its between 3500-4000 for sure but it's hard to say for me since when I punch it the turbo is spooling hard at those rpms. But I feel 2 continuous boosts one after another around those rpms

When you "feel" it and when MIVEC kicks in are two different points. It turns on at 3600 for everyone, but you don't feel it (unless you're tuned) until ~4000.

I remember reading somewhere on hear that the 04 ecu engages mives @ 3.5k and the 05-06 ecu has it at 4k whether it was for mileage reasons or w/e.....

exactly..what difference would .500 be anyway..who cares..now, if it kicked in at 1500, that would be news...btw, do all mitsu -04-06 models have mivec or just the ralliart and evo?
