05 Lancer Lancer Ralliart Master/Slave Cylinder Nightmare
Ok so i have replace my master cylinder about 3 times now in the past month and it starts leaking every time i put it in. i have not replace my slave at all. my question is that could my slave cylinder be causing these master cylinders to mess up?
My next question is that right now my master cylinder has some pressure and as my wife pushes the clutch pedal down i see my slave rod moving but i am unable to shift into any other gears. there is a little fluid on the bottom of my master but this is the third time it has done something like this. there seems to be no leaks around my slave cylinder.
Thank You for your time.

Are you using factory master cylinders, or cheap parts? Something else is wrong if these are factory (Mitsu) units failing (mis-adjustment likely). If they aren't then that's about usual.

Ive seen it happen with a few guys in here.

In the end i replaced my clutch and its holding so far. My guess is that the aftermarket pressure plate was too much for the hydraulic system. I don't think anything was wrong with the slave or master. I had replaced both and it still did it.

I had a stage 3 and the pressure plate is the only thing i can think of that was causing the problem. After i sealed the master cylinder myself to the point it would not leak i ended up snapping my clutch fork in half. The only thing after the clutch fork is the throw out bearing then pressure plate.
I ended up switching to a stage 1 clutch an pressure plate. Its been about 2 months now and i haven't had any problems yet.

Just to throw an idea out in the open, maybe we can cross reference our hydraulic system with another car like maybe an Evo for instance where it should hold more pressure without problems and still by a relatively cheap fix...

Here is a quick update of my situation. After installing my new mast and slave cylinder my clutch now wines when it goes in gear but the locked right back up after a couple shifts. So now I'm buying a clutch kit and that should solve all of my problems right?

You may want to replace your clutch lines as well for safe measure. It could be the throwout bearing is the culprit. But you can't really tell until you take it out.
Snapping my clutch fork would have been easy. My tranny ended up seizing until I snapped my output shaft.
