Well, here's the whole bit on the front axle. Flip through it, have a lookie. Gives you a good idea of whats involved.

you describe the exact noise i had last year. it would only make the noise when turning or going over speed bumps at low speeds, never on the freeway or anything, and it did not affect performance. i got my front axles reman'd and it cleared right up.

i got both axles done for $550, inc labor. he had to send them off to be reman'd, took about five business days from the day i brought my car to him till i got it back, but he had trouble finding the parts and then a place to re-manufacture them. i say take it to a mechanic you trust and get their opinion before you go and make yourself think you will have to spend a buttload to fix it.

good luck, keep us updated

word, i do think its the CV grease just not moving right because of the coldd weather im having here. ima see how it fairs when the weather heats up again. reason i think that is because after a few mins of driving its gone. and when it comes down to replacing them, i think ima just do it myself. should be fun.

i dunno about the grease not moving right, mine made the noise in may (it was pretty hot in nashville). and even after an hour drive, it would make the noise at low speeds, but my case may have been worse than yours, flip.
do whatever suits your conscience AND your wallet.

I've seen my mechanic use some kind of grease serynge (sp?) on my ball joints to fill them up. He might be able to use it on the axles too. The sound is coming from the driver side, and only until "warm". I thought about CV joints myself, or maybe the clutch. Well, if it's only some grease not doind it's job until correctly spread, I'll be quite happy.

Please never say tranny in a thread regarding problems I have with my car!! :S

ok so im still getting some noise off and on at the front driver side like some others are having.
i am going to check to see if it is the wheel bearing or the cv joint this weekend, i do think its the cv joint though.

here a vid that makes the sound i think that comes very close if not exact to what im hearing while im driving. and it happens to be a cv joint vid =P. its not as loud as in the vid because i am inside the car, and my exhaust is kinda loud but its very close to what im hearing.

but i will also check other suspension components for play or wear and tear. ill keep you guys updated. ill also be doing the cv change out if that happens to be the prob and write up a how to so you cool guys can save some money on installation.

just found this....
the clicking in this vid is a little bit closer....
