Where to go from here?

Hey everyone!

I feel like Ive hit a bit of a road block when it comes to modding my car. Other than finishing up a few projects laying around my garage and doing a bit of maintenance, I cant make up my mind on where to go now.

One day I want to build a turbo kit and i sit down and plan out all the things I'll need and how to go about the build. Then the next day I want the supercharger and I plan out a build for it. And then a week later I say forget it I'll just tune it NA and continue work on the suspension. Its become a never ending cycle...

Then in the back of my head there has been the itch to start saving up to buy an evo or a project DSM. I wouldnt get rid of the RA though, I love this car too much to do that. If I save up for the Evo I'll probably be saving for a long while so that means no tinkering for a while... :/ which would suck... lol Or if I get a project DSM I know I'll spend a lot in repairs and cleaning it up but the initial cost will be much lower, and Id have something to tinker with on the weekends.

Idk I guess Im hoping someone can help me weigh out the pros and cons here. Maybe provide a little insight. Help me break this ridiculous cycle of going back and forth on plans. I'd like to just set a plan and get started with it... lol

I realize this is probably a dumb thread, so if need be it can be erased.

But if you have any constructive thoughts I would really appreciate them!

Thanks guys!

Leave the RA alone and save for a new car. Or just be content with what you have already lol

I'm back/forth on the whole turbo idea as well but in the end just isnt worth it to me to spend that much on the car anymore when I have no idea if it's going to stick around for another 5 years or if the car decides to die on me tomorrow.

Ive thought about it. The most difficult part for me with stopping work on my car is that I love to tinker on it. LOL

Im sorta thinking a car thats already built for a turbo'd would be a better project to pursue. IDK... lol

Exactly! I think a 2g GSX or AWD Eagle would be an amazingly fun build. It has the AWD and Turbo like the Evo. Its a coupe. And it would have a much cheaper starting cost than an Evo. And I would get to tinker on it as the RA would be my dedicated daily and occasional curvy road car. lol

But yea Im like you. I think deep down I would still rather have an Evo at some point. lol

i'm the only lancer "kid" amongst a crowd of AWD DSM...they don't give me too much grief, especially now that they can call me "peg leg", lol

so I get to work with DSM's all the time, but I know it would never feed my starvation for an Evo...I just hope some day I can import a LHD VII...until then, I don't care between a VIII or an IX...MR would be amazing, but not worth $25k

I had a 1g DSM for a little while, then this went bad, then that went bad, and not to mention the other thing... DSM i seem to see are HIT OR MISS. I picked up a little 200sx se-r with a sr20det, that thing is MEAN lol. Keep the ra as is and get a toy car. or get a beater and turbo the ra lol.

It sounds like you enjoy being busy and that the RA is at the point it doesn't need much more. I say get a beater and mess about.

You might as well continue to use it as such, and get another vehicle to work on. Or, get another DD and work on your RA more.

Thanks for the input guys.

Now that Ive discussed it the idea of getting a second toy/project car like an old DSM is a lot more exciting than I originally thought.

Now that ive been thinking about it Id love to build me a 2g similar to this one:

You can never go wrong with an old dsm! :P Now to start the hunt for one.
