Need A Rear Wiper Blade!

What can I use to replace the rear wiper blade on my sportback? Do I have to use the one from the dealer (expensive), or can I just use any 12" refill? If so, I've never done refills...so how do I go about it?

Go to any local parts store/chain - get a replacement wiper there. Heck, they will even put it on for you.

Thanks, but the problem is that it isn't a standard wiper. The connection is totally different. Not Even Close. I have no problem putting on regular wipers, I've just never tried to do refills.

Wait, are there standards in rear wipers? I don't think so. My Trailblazer has a standard 17". I doubt a store carries this one.

Try the parts store - they might have it.

Well, most listings say that it takes a 17" blade. Apparently, trico says you could use a 15" and 16" too, which would make sense, if it could take a 17" blade. The problem is that a 17" blade would never fit. It's impossible. I've measured. The one in there right now is a 12".

You are implying that I should replace with a refill and not use a new wiper frame too...correct? In the existing frame, the biggest blade which could possibly fit is a 13"(barely).

Is there anyone who knows this from experience? Sportback owners...who's got my back?

Old post, but for what its worth the refill number is TR17 from Trico/Tridon

Found them at rockauto.com for $1.31ea, pick-up a couple of wiper blades while your at it cause the price of wiper blades is totally ridiculous here in Canada where you have to spend $40+ for a pair of blades !

Not true

I was told only the dealer could do it when I mistakenly tried to buy a wiper at the auto parts store like I could just slap it on and replace it. They showed me there was no way for that to happen. In this case, the whole thing needs removed because the way the manufacturer designed it.
